Tour Bus Crash Kills 2—Injures Dozens

November 18, 2009 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports a tour bus crash in Minnesota took the lives of two people and injured many of the passengers on the bus.

According to a spokesperson Andy Skoogman of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety stated there were fatalities in the tour bus crash that occurred about two miles west of Austin. The accident occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. and was a Strain’s Motorcoach bus.

According to Chief Deputy Gene Arnold of Freeborn County stated that six helicopters were sent to the scene of the rolled over bus. Arnold also stated that as many as 22 people were injured in the crash, though their conditions were not known.

A spokesman for Strain’s Motorcoach tour bus lines state that there were 23 on the bus including the driver that is a resident of Rochester Minnesota. The spokesperson stated the tour bus was on a return trip from the Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood Iowa, a weekly Wednesday tour, when it crashed and rolled over.
