LONDON, May 19, 2009 – The international law firm Bryan Cave LLP (www.bryancave.com) announced today that Stephen Ball has joined the firm’s London office as partner. Ball, a corporate and financial services lawyer, joins the firm’s Corporate Finance & Securities Client Service Group.
“Stephen enhances our ability to counsel global financial services firms, which are facing unique challenges as new regulations and oversight measures are being enacted worldwide,” said Don Lents, chairman of Bryan Cave. “The addition of Stephen to our office in London also provides further depth to our corporate capacity in Europe.”
Bryan Cave’s London office recently hired Barry Rider, a specialist in combating worldwide financial crime, and Ian Williams, charged with building and developing the firm’s restructuring practice in the UK and Europe.
“The growth of the London office is consistent with one of our strategic goals, which is to position ourselves to address our clients’ legal needs in key markets and practices,” Lents said.
Admitted to practice in England and Hong Kong, Ball has 20 years’ global management and transactional experience. He has served as vice chairman, CEO, general counsel and board member of international financial institutions, law firms and multinational corporations.
