UK Legal – Regulators Step In Over Closed Law Firm

LawFuel – Officials at the UK Solicitors Regulatory Authority have ‘intervened’ to close a law firm where the chief solicitor has been operating without a licence.

Cleveleys was operated by Lynne Cornthwaite and left the practice following the expiry of her practising certificate, leaving clients concerned when they found the offices closed.

Mrs Cornthwaite took over as principal at the Cleveleys firm when former boss John Gibbs retired in 1989.

He has distanced himself from the practice and said: “The only relationship between myself and the firm is the name.
