US Attorney Reports Canadian Citizen Pleads Guilty To Travelling With Intent To Have Sex With Young Boy

PHOENIX – Bradley Blaise Hanaback, 38, a citizen of Canada, pleaded guilty on March 3, 2008 to traveling in interstate commerce with the intent to engage in sexual conduct with minors.

On June 1, 2007, Hanaback responded to an ad for a child sex tour in Mexico. The defendant traveled to Arizona, where he paid $50 for what he thought would be one night of sex with an underage boy in Mexico. After Hanaback confirmed his desire to engage in various sex acts with a 10-year old boy, he was arrested by federal agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The sentencing is scheduled to take place on May 12, 2008. The investigation in this case was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The prosecution was handled by Vincent Q. Kirby, Senior Litigation Counsel, District of Arizona, Phoenix, and James Silver, Trial Attorney, Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section.
