US Law Firm Luce Forward Announces New Leadership for its Los Angeles Trusts and Estates Practice

LOS ANGELES – Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP announced today that Geraldine A. Wyle, a partner in the firm and a widely respected trusts and estates litigator, has been named to lead its Los Angeles Family Wealth and Exempt Organizations practice.

“Geri Wyle has emerged as a leader in our Family Wealth and Exempt Organizations practice,” said Robert J. Bell, Luce Forward’s managing partner. “She has had great success in securing favorable resolutions of her cases, and, as a result, her list of clients has grown impressively. We are excited about our trusts and estates practice in Los Angeles and throughout California.”

In addition to Wyle, the trusts and estates team in the Luce Forward Los Angeles office includes three distinguished attorneys with broad experience in every phase of the practice, from dispute resolution to planning and administration: John T. Rogers, Jr., Jeryll S. Cohen and Shelley R. Meacham.

In recent years, Luce Forward has developed one of California’s preeminent family wealth practices with more than 20 attorneys in several major California cities who concentrate on estate, trust and conservatorship litigation, probate and trust administration, exempt organizations, and tax, estate, and business succession planning.

Since 2006, a number of nationally recognized trusts and estates lawyers have joined Luce Forward, including Steven Chidester and Michelle Graham in Carmel Valley/Del Mar; James Cowley and Louis Mezzullo in Rancho Santa Fe; and Charlotte Ito in San Francisco.

Wyle’s appointment to head up the Family Wealth and Exempt Organizations contingent in Los Angeles follows the decision by attorney Bruce Ross and five colleagues to leave the Los Angeles office of Luce Forward and return to their previous law firm, Holland & Knight, effective May 1.

Bell thanked Ross and his colleagues for their contributions to Luce Forward and said, “We wish them success in their future endeavors.”

Luce Forward’s Los Angeles trusts and estates team will continue to handle some of the most sensitive and highest profile trust, estate and conservatorship matters in the area.
