Winstead Adds Michael Danforth to the Taxation, Employee Benefits and Private Business Practice Group

Dallas (Mar 5, 2008) — LAWFUEL.com – Michael Danforth, an employee benefits attorney, has joined Texas law firm Winstead PC as an associate. He will be working with the Taxation, Employee Benefits and Private Business Practice Group in the Business & Transactions Department.

Danforth comes to Winstead from Haynes and Boone LLP, where he advised clients regarding the design, administration and termination of employee benefit plans and executive compensation arrangements, and other related issues. His areas of expertise include: ERISA plan asset rules, tax-qualified retirement plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, and the treatment of benefit plans in mergers and acquisitions.

Danforth is a member of the State of Texas Bar. He received his LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law, his J.D., cum laude, from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, where he was a Dean’s scholarship recipient, and received his B.A., cum laude, in Government & Politics from the University of Texas at Dallas. He is also a member of the National Association for Stock Plan Professionals and volunteers with the Texas Scholars Program through the Greater Dallas Chamber.
