Millionaire Bluemel and YouChoose.net members share passion for Rock and Roll

On Feb. 11, 2008, Tim O’Malley, of Cambridge UK, started his campaign to “Save Planet Rock” on www.YouChoose.net and word spread through their distributed social network. Thousands of rock fans were outraged and banded together to keep their favorite station on air. On June 4th 2008 he got to post the news that PLANET ROCK has been SAVED !!!!
According to O’Malley, the co-webmaster of site SavePlanetRock.co.uk., “the simple facts are that the Save Planet Rock campaign organisers were able to focus attention on the plight of the station, via YouChoose.net.”
GCAP Media was ready to close the station but the fans weren’t having any of that and life long rock and radio fan Malcolm Bluemel and his consortium, supported by BLACK SABBATH’s Tony Iommi, JETHRO TULL’s Ian Anderson MBE, Gary Moore, and Fish, saved Planet Rock from certain closure.

Planet Rock was voted Sony Digital Station of the year at this year’s Sony awards. It broadcasts on DAB Digital Radio across the UK and online at www.planetrock.com,
